What a huge disappointment! I heard the movie wasn't that good. The time line didn't seem right and I didn't get the point of the movie. I thought one way but there was no redeeming of character. hmmm.... Sandra... uh, you can do better than this... 1 out of 4

The Painted Veil

I caught this movie by chance on my cable channel. And I remember 2 year ago seeing the trailer for this movie, and I wanted to see it. Edward Norton is such a great actor. I really liked the story. A love story set in the 1920s about a young English couple--a conservative doctor and a restless society girl--who marry hastily, relocate to Hong Kong. There they betray each other easily, and find an unexpected chance at redemption and happiness while on a deadly journey into the heart of ancient China. (Per Yahoomovies.com) 3 out of 4

I Think I Love My Wife

A funny film by Chris Rock starring Chris Rock. It wasn't a fun film for my hubby. I kept interrogating him thought out the film. "would YOU do that?" "you better not do that!" "what would you do if she did that?" It was a stressful film to watch, I'm sure, for him. hahahahaha... The message is good but my only gripe is .... at the end ... why did chris rock and gina torres break in to song? that was stupid. 2 1/2 out of 4

Beautiful!! Movie was so beautifully done. Zhang Yimou always produces colorful and beautifully done movies with the martial arts so artistically and elegantly done. The storyline was a bit odd but it was entertaining to watch. Gong Li is so beautiful and such a great actress. It's ashame that she couldn't find a vehicle to showcase her talent in american films. Maybe she still can...And I hate to say this because I've been such a fan of his... Chow Yun-Fat should stick with strictly action films that don't require dramatic acting. He can't act or he just fell flat with better actors around him. 3 out of 4
Black Snake Moan
A very interesting film. I had no idea that Justin Timberlake was in this movie. I wanted to buy into his dramatic attempt in acting... it's getting there. Christina Ricci as always is great. Subject matter is a little out there and the movie must be watched with an open mind to appreciate what it's trying to do. I liked it. 2 3/4 out of 4
The Musa Warrior

Another movie I saw while browsing through Netflix. I was surprised to see Zhang Ziyi listed as a cast. I know that she was very popular in Korea. It was all good until the ending. I didn't like the way it ended. It just made me hate ZiYi's character. 2 1/2 out of 4
The Way Home
From the beginning of the summer, I've watched a string of Korean films and was so disappointed in the movies. There was no substance and if they did, it was of issues that were not common. I was browsing Netflix and I found this had good reviews. I LOVED IT!! It really tugs at your heart strings. The unconditional love of a grandmother can change a heart of a selfish and spoiled child. 4 out of 4
Candy
An independent film that came out in 2006. I saw a trailer of this movie on a dvd and it looked interesting. The acting was very good. Abbie Cornish was very good. I've been hearing a lot about her and she is talented. I liked the film.

Alpha Dog
This movie was written and directed by Nick Cassavettes, the same man who directed 'The Notebook'. Alpha Dog is quite opposite from the Notebook. It was a very serious film that was based on a true story. I really liked the film. I was even surprised at the big role that Justin Timberlake had. He was surprisingly good. I respect that he picks these serious role. I guess, he wants to establish that he can act. The movie was well casted and it was directed very well. 3 out of 4

The Promise
I enjoy Chinese films and when I was browsing Netflix, I came upon this film. I was surprised to see a famous Korean actor, Chang Dong-Kun, listed as one of the stars of the film. The movie was full of color with cool and elegant martial arts action. I seen this movie over a 3 months ago so, I don't quite remember it too much. That must mean it wasn't memorable, I guess. 2 out of 4
Apocalypto
I was looking forward to watching this film. Mel Gibson directed it and I love Braveheart which he also directed. It was a very disappointing film. The acting was good but I just didn't quite understand the point. I think people can either love this film or hate it. I didn't like it at all.1 1/2 out of 4
