The Musa Warrior
It is 1375 and China is in a state of chaos. The Ming dynasty has seized power from the Yuan, pushing them north to the Great Wall after their hundred-year rule. The Koryo dynasty, one of Korea's ancient kingdoms, sends a delegation of diplomats and soldiers to make peace with the new Chinese government. But the delegation is accused of spying and sent in exile to a remote desert, where they are ambushed by Yuan troops. A handful of Koryo warriors, led by General Choi Jung, and a bodyguard-slave named Yeo-sol survive. After overcoming the treacherous obstacles of the desert, the men arrive at a peddler's inn and discover that a group of Yuan cavalry has kidnaped the Ming princess Furong. When Yeo-sol is also taken captive by the Yuan soldiers, Choi Jung, convinced the princess could help them return to Koryo, leads a rescue attempt to free Yeo-sol and the beautiful Furong. Another movie I saw while browsing through Netflix. I was surprised to see Zhang Ziyi listed as a cast. I know that she was very popular in Korea. It was all good until the ending. I didn't like the way it ended. It just made me hate ZiYi's character. 2 1/2 out of 4
