Georgia Rule

Totally not what I expected. The trailer made you believe that this was a normal "Gary Marshall" film... light-hearted with a bunch of comedy. This movie has a dark side. The controversial plot of a really messed up family. It ends all well but the movie seems to not mesh well. Does it want to be comedy or is it a drama. There are great movies out there that can be a dark comedy but this was just so odd. I feel that Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman's talent was wasted in this film. Lindsay Lohan not consistent in her acting through out this film. I saw glimpses of her talent but she needs some time on honing her skills as an actress. Maybe she's too confident in her talent and doesn't have the eagerness to learn. Too busy partying perhaps. Well, what do I know.

I did like the storyline even though the subject matter is really serious but seeing something once broken and redeemed is always good too watch. 2 out of 4
