This is a foreign film. It's about the time before Germany became one. I am not a history buff and I didn't know very much about the history of Germany. I knew nothing about socialism... So I heard this film got many critic awards so, I added it to my queue. I really enjoyed it. Who needs boring history books when you can watch history on tv? hahaha... I don't think this is based on a true story but I'm sure it was inspired by one. 3 1/2 out of 4

I was itching to watch this movie after reading a terrific review in the newspaper. Didn't disappoint. Loved the main character and his transformation...
