Hairspray

What a fun musical. I really enjoyed it. It was fun and every character was well played. Nikki Blonsky was great and worthy of every accolade. I didn't know what Hairspray was about and I was surprised about the subject matter. It's a great reminder of the injustices black people faced here in America and those that there were people who helped fight against it and those that aided in the injustice. I loved the final number how those subject to injustice came out and fought and won. 3 1/2 out of 4

It's ashame that their are still prejudice against race and even those against socially and physically handicapped and overweight people. We aren't born with prejudice we learn from our parents. What's that saying... "you aren't born to hate, it is learned." I see ignorance in others and even in myself and it would be so nice to finally get to a point where we are all educated and more open-minded.

indeed... there's a new documentary out called "conversation with david wilsons." i think that's what it's called. it seemed like a must-see film about this subject.
as for hairspray, it's been sitting on top of our tv for the past week. gotta watch it soon!
