Black SWAN

This was a very special week, I got to watch 2 movies in the theaters.  First,  True Grit on Wednesday and then Black Swan on Saturday.

Black Swan was so so intense.  It moved quickly. Portman was exquisite playing Nina Sayers.  How she portrayed her ambition and dedication to "ballet" and how it made her crazy.

Natalie Portman not only looked like a dancer, she really acted  like one, a type - A dancer.  The way she walked and the way she carried herself.  Nina lived and breathed dance. She had no friends and she didn't have any social skills.

The one thing my friend pointed out at the end when Nina as the white swan throws herself to her death and in reality she was dying.  She mutters out, "I was perfect."  It was a intense moment and you just feel such sympathy for her but then my friend leans over and she said, "it wasn't perfect, she messed up remember?" haha  my friend is so funny.

This movie was intense and I was extremely surprised about Mila Kunis.  She was surprisingly really good. She seemed so effortless in her portrayal of Lily.  I've only known her for playing funny characters.

Barbara Hershey :  I could not think of anyone better to play Nina's mentally off mother.

This was a great movie!
