Reign Over Me

Former college roomates Charlie Fineman and Alan Johnson meet up again by chance on a Manhattan street corner. Five years after losing his family on 9/11, Charlie--once a successful dentist--has retreated from his life, and Alan is stunned to see the changes in his formerly gregarious friend. At the same time, Alan--who should be enjoying his beautiful wife, children and career--is overwhelmed by his responsibilities. Their rekindled relationship becomes a lifeline for the two men, who are both in need of a trusted friend at this pivotal moment in their lives. (per yahoo.movies.com)

I really enjoyed this film. Finally, a movie where Don Cheadle is taking the lead. It's not a typical Adam Sandler movie and it is refreshing to see Sandler attempting a serious role where he verbally brings humor to his character. Sandler and Cheadle work really well together. The movie can be viewed a bit clumsy not really putting things together or even revealing a clear purpose of the film. But I see two men, one who lost his family and one who is lost in his family. Charlie needs to deal with his loss and Alan needs to find a way to be part of the family with out losing his family. I liked what the movie attempted. And it's the acting ability of the actors that made the movie worth while to see. Oh and the musical soundtrack is worthy of a mention. The soundtrack was an asset to the film. 3 out of 4
